Gertie igot a new engine last week of March 2005. The stock 1200cc gave up as the clock turned back to zero... The 'new' engine is a 1600cc refurbished block taken from a donor car which will has been fully refreshed, cleaned and painted. We've added twin Weber 34 ICT carbs, a 009 distributor, Bosch blue coil, chrome alternator stand with Empi oil filler, electronic ignition, blue leads and an aluminum dress up kit to brighten the whole thing up. The exhaust is VW manufactured and new heat exchangers, alternator and fuel pump have also been fitted. To ensure we get the correct gear ratios a gearbox from a 1600cc Karmann Ghia (code AO) was also fitted.

The tin is painted the same grey as the interior of the car to tie up the white/ grey theme and it runs like a dream...

You'll notice a couple of French franc coins over the pre-heat outlets that have been blocked up, nice touch...
